LAURA’S CURRICULUM
Over the past 22 years, in Laura’s work with children and music, she has developed a very effective and FUN curriculum for the students and teens that she has taught. Laura has developed her own student workbook and a teaching technique and style that make for a great student experience (Whether In-Person, on Zoom, or FaceTime).
Laura’s curriculum has been evolving and improving throughout the years, But there are two consistent ingredients, and those are ENCOURAGEMENT and FUN! Laura’s personality and sense of humor keep her students wanting to come to lessons.
“When you get on stage, your number one goal should be to have FUN!”
Laura Hall
She continues to annually update her curriculum. As she has been teaching children and starting with them as early as 6 or 7 years old, she has watched and listened to how the voice of a child changes and grows (both male and female). She has developed a curriculum that can grow with your child or teenager.
Laura begins with Singer’s Anatomy and Singer’s Breathing. Children, especially little ones, don’t realize that when you are singing, “YOUR BODY IS AN INSTRUMENT!” Therefore, students need to understand the Singer’s Anatomy (lips, tongue, hard palette, soft palette, larynx, vocal cords, lungs, etc.)., and Laura has a unique way to teach anatomy for singing to beginners. And, this is where Laura begins... This leads into the most important foundational lessons she feels she can teach her students, and that is the art of Singer’s Breathing.
In addition to Singers Breathing, Laura has a checksheet of courses for each student. This checksheet includes the following courses, and more; and voice lessons are always tailored to the needs of each student, as every voice is unique:

Laura stays up-to-date on all new technology that can be used to help teach her students. Teaching them the classic theories of music is important in the curriculum, but she also keeps-up with up-to-date vocal techniques and exercises that will help the voice to grow. In addition, she will use new applications and computer programs that help her students learn. Many applications can be downloaded to your child or teenager’s device to practice at home.
Laura loves the children and teenagers she teaches, along with their parents. She works to form a friendship with each of her students to make each one of them feel special, and it eases their nerves, especially if it is their first voice lesson. Throughout the years, Laura has formed long-lasting friendships with students and their parents who she even considers part of her family.
