Caroline Fuller is a vocal student of award-winning vocal coach Laura Ford Hall. In this article, we celebrate Caroline for achieving and for receiving the award of being named an Honored Vocal Student by the Voice Studio of Laura Ford Hall. “Honored Student Awards are only given to students who work hard, focus, sing to the best of their ability, rehearse on their own, and make improvements in lessons week by week. I am thrilled to name Caroline as an Honored Student,” Laura said.
Caroline is 11 years old and is in the 6th grade at Pikeville Elementary School (Pikeville, Ky.). She lives with her parents, Mr. Rodney and Dr. Megan (Collier) Fuller, in Pikeville. She is the granddaughter of David and Sherry Collier of Pikeville and the late Rodney and Nancy Fuller of Feds Creek, Ky.
When Caroline isn’t busy singing, she stays very busy playing softball, volleyball, and painting. She also enjoys time with family and friends at the lake. She is very active with her church and church youth group, and she said she loves to sing to worship God. Caroline has a background in musical theatre. She was very active with Jenny Wiley Theatre in Pikeville where she was cast in Sleeping Beauty, Elf Jr., Cinderella, Peter Pan, and Annie Jr. She loves all types of music, but her favorite style to sing is country, and country is also her favorite genre of music to listen to. Her favorite singer is George Straight, and her current favorite song is “Yes I Will” by Hillsong Worship. When Caroline grows up, she wants to be an Animator or Imagineer for Disney. “With her level of talent, intellect and determination,” Laura said, “I have no doubt that she could make that dream come true.”
Her parents are so proud of her, as they should be. In a joint statement, her parents, Rodney and Megan, said, “Caroline is everyone’s dream for a daughter. She’s loving, caring, compassionate, and the best sister to her siblings, but most of all loves Jesus with all her heart. We prayed for her before God allowed us to have her and He gave us His very best songbird. We are a better family because she’s a part of it!”
“The quote from Caroline’s parents brought a tear to my eye,” Laura said. “God did, indeed, send the Fullers an amazing little girl. Caroline is very, very talented and has impeccable pitch and the natural ability to flow with musicality. She tries her very best at any goal I set for her. She is a hard worker, and a creative thinker with a fun sense of humor. She and I always have fun singing together, and she makes my week brighter when we have our lessons. She is very deserving to be awarded the title of “Honored Vocal Student.”
When asked what she likes most about taking voice lessons from Laura, Caroline said, “I love getting to laugh with my teacher. She is fun, and I think she is the best voice teacher in the world. I am learning so many vocal techniques,” She added. “But, I love to sing mostly because God created me to sing, and I appreciate having the talent of singing because it makes me very happy.”
So please wish Caroline CONGRATULATIONS!

Brooke McMullen is a vocal student of award-winning vocal coach Laura Ford Hall. However, in this article we celebrate Brooke for achieving and for receiving an award for being named as an Honored Vocal Student by the Voice Studio of Laura Ford Hall. “Honored Student Awards are only given to students who work hard, focus, sing to the best of their ability, rehearse on their own, and make improvements in lessons week by week. She has performed on stage in Aladdin, Peter Pan, Adventures in Wonderland, and Jack and the Beanstalk. She also made the cast of The Little Mermaid, but that musical is on hold due to COVID-19.
If Brooke could travel anywhere in the world, she would go to London. “We went a couple of years ago,” said Brooke, “and I loved exploring the city and would like to see more.”
Her parents are so proud of her, as they should be. In a joint statement, her parents, Kelly and Brett said, “We so proud of Brooke for never being afraid to try new things and always giving it her all. And Laura is also very proud of Brooke for her dedication to studying music. “She is always so willing to learn and loves to learn. She is wonderful at following direction, remembering the direction and applying it to the many songs she sings. Her ability to sing on pitch is impeccable for her age, and she has an extensive range that I have been very impressed with. Most of all, I adore Brooke for her sweetness and her smiles. Students like Brooke can brighten any teacher’s day. She is truly deserving of this Honored Vocal Student Award.”
THE YOUNG BROTHERS: Ayden & Blane
THE YOUNG BROTHERS: Ayden & Blane Young
THE VOICE STUDIO OF LAURA FORD HALL Congratulates the Students of the Week... Brothers AYDEN & BLANE YOUNG
Both Ayden and Blane are amazing students and musicians. They both play multiple instruments and are doing excellent work in their vocal and performance lessons, so they have been chosen by their vocal coach to be awarded this honor. “Ayden and Blane are quite possibly the hardest working students I have ever had,” said Laura. “They want to grow as musicians, not only in their instrumental and vocal technique, but also in their stage performance. They are gifted musicians; gifted bluegrass players,” she added. Laura said when she works with the Young Brothers, she feels a little closer to her home in the mountains of east Kentucky, where bluegrass roots run deep.
Ayden and Blane are the sons of Melissa and Chad Young of Southwest Roanoke County in Virginia. They are the grandsons of Tony & Trudy Young, and Melinda & Allen Worrell.
Ayden is 14 years old, and he enjoys not only performing but creating music as well. His favorite musicians are Jack Johnson, The Beatles, and Flatt & Scruggs. When asked where he would travel if he could go anywhere in the world, he replied “Nashville, Tennessee to experience the history and see the Grand Ole Opry.” Ayden already has a resume of musical experience, even though he is only 14 years old. He has been studying the banjo for 3 years, piano for 6 years, guitar for 3 years, and has added voice lessons to his studies during the past year. He has had experience playing in the famous Floyd Country Store in Floyd, Virginia (Floyd is also home to the famous Floyd Fest Music Festival). In addition, Ayden has played with the Earlysville Bluegrass Boys, and uses his gifts for God when he plays at church. He has recorded 2 bluegrass albums and 1 jazz album. “In the future, I hope to record more music, play music with other musicians and incorporate singing more,” Ayden added. He also has the goal of being a Music Teacher someday. When he isn’t performing or rehearsing, he can be found searching for Star Wars collectibles or reading books.
Ayden has a Youtube Channel (Pianjo Player) you can check out his music at:

Younger brother, Blane, is 9 years old. He is building his own music resume as well and has been studying and playing mandolin and piano for the past two years and has added vocal lessons within the past year. His future goals in music are “to learn to sing more songs and play more music,” he said. His favorite musician is Kentucky’s own Ricky Skaggs, and his favorite song is “Shepherd’s Voice.” Laura said, “Blane is one of the happiest children I have ever had the pleasure of teaching. He is such a happy kid and always has a smile on his face and puts a smile on mine as well.” Blane is currently studying harmony singing, so he and his brother can sing harmonized duets with one another. Harmony is difficult to do, especially at age 9! However, “Blane is really coming a long way with both solo and harmony vocals,” Laura added.
When asked if he could travel anywhere in the world where would he go… he replied “Disney World! It’s the most fun place on Earth!” And, when he grows up, he wants to be an engineer & designer of roller coasters, so maybe Disney World will hire him someday. When he is not playing and practicing his music, he enjoys building K’Nex and Legos and collecting Hotwheels.
When asked what they enjoyed the most about vocal lessons, Blane said, “Singing warmups! (and sang) Lah-Lah-Lah!” Ayden added “My teacher is encouraging, kind and funny. She’s always encouraging us with our singing.” And Laura thoroughly enjoys teaching the boys as well. “I am very proud of both of them,” she said. “Their passion for music shines through them, and God has given them both wonderful talents.”
Laura is not the only person very proud of Ayden and Blane. In a joint statement, the boys’ parents, Melissa and Chad said, “The boys have found and embraced God’s gift to them through music. And, they are having fun sharing their music with all!”

“Isabella is an amazing student who could brighten anybody’s day,” Laura said. “She works so hard on her music, so she has been awarded this honor.”
At 4 years old, she is the youngest student that Laura has ever had, but after one “Meet & Greet” lesson, it was clear that though she’s only 4, she is exceptionally smart and gifted. “She hit every note in her pitch assessment and has an advanced range for a 4-year-old,” said Laura. “If a child can sing on pitch that young, it just shows that they were chosen by God to be born with the gift of song.”
Isabella is the daughter of Jason and Samra Adams of Prestonsburg, Kentucky. She is the granddaughter of Nancy Adams, Terry Adams, Clarissa Mason, and Sammy Skeans.
Isabella’s favorite things to do to pass time are singing, dancing, running, and crochet. Her favorite song is “I'll Find You” by Lecrae featuring Tori Kelly, and her favorite musical artist is TobyMac. If she could travel anywhere in the world, she said, “Alaska! Because they have a lot of snow!”
When asked what she enjoyed the most about singing lessons, Isabella said, “Having a singing teacher like Mrs. Laura!”
Her mother, Samra Adams added, “She enjoys her lessons with Laura so much!”
Her mom and dad are very proud of her, and sent this joint statement about their amazing daughter: “Isabella is incredibly smart and sweet. She loves helping others and being involved in everything around her. She always has a smile, song and dance wherever she goes. Her happiness is absolutely contagious!”
And Laura concurs with that on all accounts. “She is always laughing and makes me laugh and smile during every lesson,” Laura said. “It is impossible to be around her for even five minutes and not laugh and smile. She has a joy that radiates around her. I have taught many children over the years, and she truly is a special little girl.”
CONGRATULATIONS ISABELLA!
makenzie lucas
“Makenzie is a wonderful voice student,” Laura said. “She works so hard on her music, and she is a songwriter at the age of 12! I am amazed at the songs she writes and her willingness to learn and to strive to be better and better, and she has a beautiful voice!”
Makenzie is from Salem, Virginia. She is in the 7th grade, and she is the daughter of Jason & Amanda Lucas. When she isn’t singing, she loves to ride four wheelers & play in the creek. Her favorite singers are Lauren Daigle, Morgan Wallen, and Carrie Underwood
Makenzie loves to sing because It makes her happy and makes her feel better! Her favorite color is yellow. She loves to write songs and, as her teacher, I have been so impressed with her ability to write songs. They are such good songs for her age. She says that she is inspired to write songs when she’s outside and have a certain feeling for mood.
So wish Makenzie “Congratulations!”
